A large population study from South Korea has found that women in their 20s and 30s with uterine fibroids face a 50% higher risk of developing atrial fibrillation (AFib), a serious heart rhythm disorder linked to stroke and heart disease.
Researchers followed more than 2.5 million women over seven years and found that those with fibroids were significantly more likely to be diagnosed with AFib compared to those without. The findings suggest fibroids may affect more than reproductive health, highlighting the importance of whole-body health awareness.
