These cranberry BBQ turkey meatball skewers are the perfect balance of cozy holiday flavor and better-for-you ingredients. Sticky, savory, and slightly sweet, they feel indulgent enough for a holiday party while using lean protein and antioxidant-rich ingredients that may help support hormone balance and manage fibroid symptoms.

Ingredients (Serves 6–8)

For the Turkey Meatballs

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey (93% lean or higher)
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup steel cut oats or whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • For the Cranberry BBQ Sauce
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • ½ cup low-sugar BBQ sauce
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (optional, for warmth)

For Serving

Wooden skewers or toothpicks

Fresh parsley or rosemary for garnish

Directions

1. Make the Meatballs

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large bowl, mix ground turkey, grated onion, garlic, egg, oats, olive oil, parsley, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until just combined.

Roll into small meatballs (about 1–1½ inches) and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until cooked through and lightly golden (internal temperature of 165°F).

2. Prepare the Cranberry BBQ Sauce

While meatballs bake, add cranberries, BBQ sauce, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, and cinnamon to a small saucepan.

Simmer over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cranberries burst and the sauce thickens slightly.

Blend briefly with an immersion blender if you prefer a smoother sauce.

3. Glaze the Meatballs

Transfer baked meatballs to a large skillet or bowl. Spoon cranberry BBQ sauce over the meatballs and gently toss until evenly coated.

Simmer on low heat for 2–3 minutes so the glaze sticks.

4. Assemble & Serve

Thread 2–3 glazed meatballs onto skewers or serve individually with toothpicks. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.
