Why Are Uterine Fibroids Rising Among Young Indian Women?

August 14,2025

A growing trend shows uterine fibroids increasingly being diagnosed in Indian women in their 20s and 30s, especially in urban areas. According to The Daily Jagran, experts point to a combination of factors driving this surge: early puberty extending hormonal exposure, lifestyle shifts like poor diet, obesity, sedentary routines, high stress levels, and delayed childbirth. Exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (like those in plastics and processed foods) also mimics estrogen in the body, promoting fibroid growth. Addressing this rise involves balanced diets, hormonal regulation, weight management, and stress reduction.
