Tiombe Serrano’s Story

June 07,2020

On August 28, I ended up in the cardiac unit at the hospital because my hemoglobin had dropped to a 5. I developed severe anemia because of my fibroids.

Blood transfusions and iron infusions have been my bandaid. Now, dizzy spells, passing out, severe anemia, diarrhea, nausea, and constant severe abdominal pain are my norm.

I’ve decided I cannot live like this after my doctor confirmed a large (8.8cm or 3.4 inches) fibroid is on my right ovary- and I have more than one.

Women need to be educated. This isn’t a game and should be taken seriously. My surgery is scheduled for July 12th.

Learn your treatment options. There are many different ways that doctors treat fibroid symptoms.
