Atlanta, GA, May 30, 2024—Realty TV star and entrepreneur Cynthia Bailey teamed up with the Fibroid Fighters Foundation to host an impactful “Let’s Get Real About Fibroids” brunch at the Four Seasons Hotel in Atlanta. The event was a kickoff to a series of national events that will be held in June and July to help women learn about the benign uterine tumors and treatment options.
Fibroid Fighters is dedicated to raising awareness, educating, and providing support for those who have been affected by fibroids, like Cynthia Bailey, her sister Malorie Bailey, celebrity makeup artist Kym Lee King, and author Eugenia Buie, founder of Overcomers Ministry Group, who all attended the brunch to spread awareness about fibroid disease.
Yan Katsnelson, M.D., Founder of Fibroid Fighters, delivered opening remarks to welcome the special guests and attendees.
“Uterine fibroids, a common yet under-discussed condition, impacts women’s health, relationships, and careers. Raising awareness empowers women to learn symptoms, seek diagnosis, and explore treatments like uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) to improve their quality of life,” Dr. Katsnelson said.
Bailey, along with her sister, Malorie Bailey and mother Barbara Bailey Morris, offered a powerful family perspective on battling fibroids together and their impact on families.
“You are not alone,” Bailey declared, “and there is a supportive community ready to fight with you every step of the way.”
Her sister Malorie Bailey emphasized, “Early screenings are crucial,” highlighting the hereditary link.
The event celebrated motherhood amidst fibroid awareness with a delicious brunch, uplifting music by American-based DJ, Toni K and singer/songwriter Voice Singh along with free giveaways for everyone present. Attendees enjoyed remarks from the inspiring motivational speaker Keith Brown, aka “Mr. I’m Possible”.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Cynthia Bailey, Kym Lee, Eugenia Buie, and all our special guests for lending their voices to this important cause,” said Dr. Katsnelson. “We are committed to continuing our efforts to educate, support, and empower those affected by fibroids.”
The fibroid awareness brunch provided the opportunity for open conversations and shared experiences which can go a long way in battling a health issue that affects 26 million American women. The Fibroid Fighters Foundation is determined to continue its efforts in the fight against fibroids by empowering women with information about symptoms and treatment options, so they have a voice in their care.
The next fibroid awareness event, Empowering Women Together, is set for Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Georgia Brown’s, 950 15th Street Northwest Washington, DC.
