Washington, D.C., June 25, 2024 – Fibroid Fighters Foundation is holding an event raising awareness about fibroids, on June 29th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. [Eastern Time] at Georgia Brown’s Restaurant, 950 15th Street Northwest, Washington, DC. A Sisters Fibroid Awareness Brunch will be hosted by celebrity makeup artist Kym Lee and include special guests Coach Ella Destiny and Ivory Twyman. Yan Katsnelson, M.D., Founder and CEO of USA Fibroid Centers, will deliver the keynote address.
The brunch will feature an opening musical performance with Levi Stephens followed by an interactive panel discussion led by women living with fibroids who will share their experience on managing fibroids and treatment. The event is an opportunity to learn about uterine fibroids, gain valuable insights, and connect with other women in a supportive and empowering environment.
Kym Lee hosts a monthly Instagram Live program on fibroids called Talk About “U”. Coach Ella Destiny is a best-selling author who advocates for women having a choice in their fibroid treatment and Ivory Twyman, is the owner of Ivy Boutique and a realtor in the Washington, D.C. area, who underwent UFE treatment.
Dr. Yan Katsnelson, a Harvard-trained physician, highlights the critical need for awareness, stating, “There is a lack of awareness and prioritization about uterine fibroids as an important health issue, despite it being the most common gynecological condition.
